(I'm tired of "how can i get free tv" emails, when all I ever did was figure out how to control a satellite receiver to change channels via a serial cable. This is pretty well understood at this point, and it's been YEARS since I had directv) The most interesting part of the code I wrote was actually the serial port handling code, which may be downloaded here. Again, its' been years since i've used it, so no guarantees.
